Left Lane are a four-piece (sometimes five) band making modern indie-rock for the brain and the booty. Taking influence from classic acts such as Wolf Alice, King Gizzard and Foo Fighters, they’ve landed on a uniquely groovy indie sound with a little twist of math rock and psychedelia.
Growing beyond being local favourites in their hometown of Wollongong, the band are fresh off touring up and down the NSW coast. They’ve been earning a new crop of fans while stomping on stages alongside other indie darlings like Maddy Jane, Death by Denim and Sesame Girl, with an eye to become a mainstay of the Australian touring music scene.
Left Lane’s songs shift from soft and emotive moments to punchy exclamations, driving rock beats and the occasional ripping solo that listeners of Aussie indie-rock know and love. The stylistic contrast of grunge-tinged rock sounds to groovy and bittersweet indie has captured the ears and imaginations of a loyal core following which is set to grow with new releases and shows in the coming months.
Recent studio time has seen these new tracks emerge, refining the band’s sound with catchier hooks, bolder splashes of psychedelia, and taking a more modern approach to their production. Their aim to capture high energy and high-emotion created through their live shows is underway with their first release of ‘Butterfly’ on June 30.
Lots of love, Darby, Tas, Ethan and Avril.
